As founders of HEAL, we hope to be a helping hand to students that want to get ahead in life but are blocked every step of the way due to not having enough money and, in some cases, not even having an address to apply for helpful programs. McKinney-Vento kids at our school, who are not under the wing of DSS, are the ones facing the most conflict because at the moment, they are not seen as a priority for aid.
We wish to help the homeless students in our school that have just as much potential as other students, but do not have the same means of achieving their goals. Through academic success, they are able to gain entry into colleges, be eligible for scholarships, and able to obtain better, higher paying jobs.
Did you know... As of the 2015 school year, Ridge View High School has 32 McKinney-Vento students?
